Labeling!

What if you could change your perspective on what is wrong and what is right?
What if nothing is either wrong or right but rather two views of the same subject?

What if you dumped labeling things as an absolute of "either this or that" and just let it be what it is and observe the outcome! Try it for a while.

This " I AM " me.

It has been a crazy time during the last year. Change was coming fast and furious. I felt both excited and strangely full of a different kind of energy. I know there are some DNA changes going on within my body. I feel physically different. It is like I am growing into my highest self.
My sleep patterns are changing and I am getting the most restful, deepest sleep of my life. My dreaming has increased and I am experiencing very vivid visions. Many of them I share with you. My psychic ability has increased. It has always been a powerful force in my life and it astounds me that so much psychic growth has expanded recently.
I have put on 15 pounds in pretty short order and it is time to shed it. I am motivated now to do just that. Why the motivation comes roaring in at this time , I don't know...but I do know that I can feel it grabbing my attention.
My personal relationships are changing. I have been busy weeding my human garden. I am taking a very close look at who and what is in my life.
I am suddenly truly going with the flow of things now. I am seeing the messages that are being sent to me.
My creative urges have changed. I am seeing a spiritual painting before I paint it and that has never occurred before. My writing has evolved too!
Colors and details are more focused and brighter. It is quite a ride this spiritual me, this evolving me, this I AM me!

The Crazy Ups and Downs of Friendship

During this past year I have experienced what I am sure many of you have and that is serious disappointment with friendships and relationships and all the craziness that can ensue.

There is no getting around it, there will be times that we will let down the people we care about and they will let us down as well. There are deal breakers that come up that are unacceptable but the smaller things seem to have become big things for so many people and I will try to shed some light on these other things and give a spiritual outlook on all of this.

I think the first thing would be for each person in turn to define clearly what friendship is to them and what you expect. This would be an eye opener for you when you find that in a lot of cases you may simply be expecting too much perfection from another person when you aren’t perfect yourself. None of us are!

With me, this perfection is expected more than most because I am a spiritual teacher and a member of the clergy. This puts me in a precarious position when it comes to befriending people and allowing them into my private space and daily life. Too many times I am put on some kind of pedestal and I do not want to be there. I do not insist on someone using my title of reverend and in fact do not make it a big deal at all. It is other people who make it a big deal. I am not a celebrity nor do I wish to become one.
As a child, my family moved around a lot and as a result of that I never had any close friends. I was always hungry for a friend that I could be with to share who and what I was. So, in retrospect I realized when I became an adult that I was Not very selective when it came to picking a friend, if they befriended me that was enough.

Through the earlier years I had some real weird friendships. I also had some extremely hurtful ones. Looking back I arrived at the conclusion that most of them were co-dependant just like my mother and father. They were all I had as role models. I learned at the heavy knees of serious dysfunction. Monkey see, Monkey do!

I have grown a lot on discernment but I, like everyone else needs a friendship that is sustaining and real. I came to a realization that life being what it is, that this would be one of the biggest challenges of all. I thought it would be death, judgment or betrayal, etc. What I have come to know is all the other challenges are tied to relationships in all its many forms and definitions.
For a while it was starting to feel as though I was detoxing from negative relationships/friendships. Are there any Friendship Anonymous Groups out there? Maybe there should be!
Now don’t get me wrong I have had some wonderful friendships along the way but I have also learned that not everyone in your life is supposed to be there for the rest of your life.
It would be real crowded at the dinner table if this were true.

People keep showing up and doing exactly what they are supposed to do to show you something, teach you something and point the way back to the purest essence of self. All my relationships that I had previously labeled bad were not in fact bad at all. They were a blessing and what had happened was for my greatest and highest good and theirs but it is my journey and not theirs I concentrate on.

Now, when something happens that breaks my heart and drags down my spirit instead of retaliating and becoming angry, I retreat into myself in prayer and meditation and ask the question, “What am I supposed to know about me and for me?” I ask to see the blessings that are there. I want to do this as fast as possible and not arrive to a conclusion years later. I simply don’t want to drag around all the hurt for years. Talk about living in the past. I want to live, learn and move on and become a better, wiser and more enlightened soul. I want to embrace my power. I do not want to be bitter and full of resentment at something I feel has been done to me. I see it spiritually as something that happened for me, not to me.

I utilize the spiritual tools of introspection, solitude, meditation, prayer and allow myself to look inward to carry me forward out of any darkness and into the light. I do not want to fuel a negative situation with more negative energy. It takes practice and a commitment to the process to just “Let Go,” after you know what you need to know. Accept it and move on.

This is the way to your higher self and God. This is the road to what is called Mastery.
Becoming the master of your life is something that when started…one step leads to a more powerful one and so on. It is addicting in a peaceful sense. You are then no longer a wonderer but rather a “Knower.”

Visualize with me for a moment and imagine a train trip that you are on. You start in a place that is dirty and dark with almost no scenery that brings you joy. The train takes off and as you watch the scenery out the window it gets gradually more beautiful and full of life with clear blue skies and thousands of trees and waterfalls. Occasionally it goes through a dark tunnel and pops out the other side and the scenery gets more incredible, as your eyes drink it all in, your heart swells with happiness. Soon another tunnel ahead and maybe this one is darker and scarier for a bit and then just as before it pops out very quickly to the other side blasting you with beauty and peace and knowledge of what you just experienced.

I am describing the spiritual journey of a committed seeker. If this is not you then this is something to think about. WWW.MAKEACHOICENOW.COM

This Should Be Enough

This should be enough
by Rev. Diannia Baty

First of all, we were created from a force and an energy that literally defies description, though mankind has tried for thousands of years to define this source of all. Scientists are just beginning to touch upon the magnificence of this source through quantum mechanics. The more they discover the more they realize there is that much more to explain. We will never be able to fully explain or define The explanation of what God is…is evolving as we are evolving. We are in the process of taking what we think we know about that which we call God out of the dogma and theology we have so solidly encased this force in. It is happening all over the world. It is undeniable. I personally feel if we just relax and enjoy the fact that God is all pervasive and just is, we would all be a lot better off.

So where God is concerned...take it easy and sweet.

God Just IS and that should be enough!

My Rainy Day Potato Soup Recipe

You may wonder why a recipe is on a spiritual blog. The answer is simple. Cooking with love is a zen like practice and when someone eats something you cooked it sends a little something extra to them.

MY RAINY DAY OLD FASHIONED POTATO SOUP RECIPE
by Rev. Diannia Baty

After I posted something about making potato soup on a rainy day some of you have asked for the recipe. I do not measure anything

so bear that in mind. The nice thing about not measuring is you can improvise when needed. This will feed a large family of about 4 to 6 depending on how large a bowl they want and there will be some left over for heating up again. It also doesn't take all day to make this. From beginning to end it takes about two hours from chopping to eating. It is real easy to make for something that tastes so good.

5 large stalks of celery...chopped coarsely

I large sweet onion...chopped coarsely

A lot of fresh garlic to taste...chopped coarsely

4 tablespoons or so of real butter

3 boxes of chicken broth

8 chicken bullion cubes

3 or 4 tablespoons fresh parsley

10 to 12 peeled and coarsely chopped medium size red potatoes or a 5 pound bag (it is not a much as you think) *

sea salt and pepper to taste

In your favorite soup pot melt the butter until it just starts to sizzle over low heat. You do not want to burn the butter. Toss in the celery, garlic, parsley and onion, stir and put a lid on it over a low flame. Keep stirring the mixture up every minute or so until the onions are transparent. Pour in all 3 boxes of chicken broth plus 8 chicken bullion cubes...turn up heat slightly. When this starts to bubble add potatoes. Put on lid and stir frequently keeping heat low to medium. Every now and then after about 45 minutes test a potato cube for softness. When it is soft take a potato masher and mash some of the potato cubes right in the pot to thicken the broth. Let it cook on low heat for another 20 to 30 minutes and serve with a crusty bread or biscuits.

All you have to do after this is listen to the compliments and request for seconds.

It will stick to your ribs and you will get requests for it over and over.

I don't mind if you share the recipe.

Let me know how it works out!

Blessings and happy eating!

Thumping and Thinking

As I was sitting here this morning waiting for God to channel to me what to write about this morning, it strikes me that I am having trouble concentrating because they are working on my street laying cable. There is a constant thump, thump, thump sound coming from one of their machines. After a while it feels similar to what Chinese water torture must feel like. Then I had a light bulb moment. It is only a problem if I view it as a problem.

After all if the things we are looking at are not changing then changing the way we see it is the key to a higher vibration of spiritual mind. Most of the time it changes instantly and stays that way. There may be times when you have to pull yourself back to the higher thought another time or two but it is well worth the effort.

I am a perpetual student of life and life will hand me a lot of experiences. It is as if God caught my thought vibration and just sent it back as experience. I hear the words..."what are you going to do with this experience?" I get it! I get it!

So now I am hearing this constant pulsing thump and I ask, "what am I supposed to know?" As soon as I wrote this the thumping increased in speed.

It is a vibration that could be used for healing...that is the way I choose to view it and now it is not a bother any longer!

God Being Sassy

Last night I got a call from a sweet friend. She is also a member of the spiritual development class. We chatted for a while and the subject of God and how he communicates with us came up.She said that she had been in a bit of a snit because the weekend did not go as planned. God was talking to her and chiding her for being so pitiful. She said that God had a tendency to be sassy and snippy with her and she asked me why God talked to me so differently?
I reminded her that God communicates with each one of us individually and according to our knowledge at that time and how we would understand.I asked her if he got her attention and she said absolutely. I reminded her that the two traits that she had given to God as sassy and snippy were also a part of her personality so when God communicated with her in that way it got her attention and she immediately understood.
Now there may be times for her when God is more soothing when it is called for but with her I could clearly see why God communicates with her in the style she would respond to.
She understood what I have been teaching and all the lights were on and blazing illumination was focused on this. She was so getting this. So, before I went to bed I thanked God for showing me yet another person I could be of service to before the day ended.

The Power Of Intention and Thought!

I am going to be putting things on my blog more than usual to give you something to look over and then I will slow down but for now I am busy getting it together for you. I just got a call from someone who loves it and asked me why I didn't do this a long time ago and my answer is because I thought I would not have enough skill to go forward with it.
I remember a long time ago convincing myself that learning macrame would be too hard. I wanted to learn this particular skill of tying knots in fancy ways to make things. It excited me at the prospect of being able to do it but I never took any lessons. I felt what was the use.
I felt the classes were too costly and very soon a coupon arrived in the mail for half off the classes. The obstacle was removed. Co-incidence? I think not. Finally, I decided to go for it. I signed up for a local class and the day finally arrived. There was about eight of us in class men and women alike. The instructor was a woman of about thirty and she showed us examples of things that she had made.I was very impressed. Once more that voice rang up inside me that said, "this is beyond you and you are wasting your time and money." The first lesson was how to tie the various knots and we made a plant hanger. What I discovered is I was a natural at this and my fingers flew. It was too easy for me. The next day I purchased what I needed and started designing my own creations. I made hanging chairs, lamp shades and hammocks. I loved it. I put together a few of my own design books and sold them.
I made lovely things for gifts and had a blast doing it.
My point to all of this is when I finally decided to start a blog, it wasn't near as difficult as I thought and I have such a sense of accomplishment and the energy of the feel good feeling is addictive. I am creating and when I am creating I am in such a state of peace and joy.
What are you holding back in terms of creating something? What are the internal voices telling you? This is something I will have to be aware of due to prior conditioning from childhood when I never felt good enough or worthy. This is part of a life long spiritual lesson for me to not listen to the negative inner whispers!I am worthy and I am more than good enough.
God celebrates my accomplishments and guides me forward for more of the same and will do the same for you.
